Easy Omega-3 Butter Spread

Looking for a healthier butter spread, that’s soft and spreadable straight from the refrigerator, but not full of mystery ingredients and partially hydrogenated or palm oils? My Omega-3 Butter Spread is for you! Grass fed butter and walnut oil combine to make a spread that has a healthier balance of fatty acids, reduced saturated fat and a rich source of plant-based heart healthy omega 3 fatty acids. Super simple and easy to make, you can keep this spread in your refrigerator all the time, ready to add rich buttery flavor to toast or green beans with a secret heart healthy kick! Feel free to substitute unsalted butter and omit the salt if you are watching your sodium intake.

Directions:

  1. Using a handheld mixer (or a whisk), whisk softened butter and salt together in a medium mixing until soft and incorporated.

  2. Drizzle in walnut oil slowly while continuing to mix until all oil is fully incorporated.

  3. Pour into airtight container and refrigerate until firm. Keep refrigerated and use by the “best by” date for the butter that you used.

(Makes about 1 cup)

  • 4 oz. (112 grams) Expeller Pressed Walnut Oil

  • ⅜ tsp Salt
